Written by seocraze on Jul 18th, 2010 | Filed under: Internet Marketing

Hi there, i want to ask a question about internet links that you save.
Just say you save an internet link in a folder on your desk top.
how do you find out what was the orgininal link, with out it having on it for an example : C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\PM MARKETING\Network Leads – LMS.mht
(with out it having C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\ on it) ?
because if was to share this link with a friend or someone, it won’t work.) how do i get it the way i found it, after i’ve saved it to my desktop? Please help me. thank you to every one who helps me with this question. i hope you all can understand what i’m trying to explain. :)

  1. If you open the mht file in internet explorer. right-click on the page where it says "Home" and select properties, it will show you the http.

  2. try Google Desktop Search to find any kind of file in your System

you can get google pack software from bottom of page at

    http://infominds.blogspot.com

  3. In the email you send to your friend, basically, you want to type it as if you were typing it into the address bar on your internet browser. After you finish typing it press enter once or twice(ex: http://www.google.com or screenshots.modemhelp.net) so that it highlights and underlines it as something you can click on and then send it. You may also want to create an email or word document of Internet links by doing the above and sending it to yourself. Name it something like "useful links" or "important web pages". This can eliminate you having to crowd up your desktop w/ unnecessary items. Hope this works for you.

  4. Try View | source code … sometimes it says something like "saved from http://host.example.com/foobar/etc.html", though it depends on how did you saved it
